West Church the Vacancy – Presbytery takes responsibility for the vacant congregation.
A commission of presbytery ministers and elders has been appointed, convened by the Rev. William Sinclair.
The convener is responsible for ensuring the pulpit is supplied each week;
Overseeing the pastoral care of the congregation;
Working with the Session and Committee to prepare for the Linkage Commission;
Leading the Session and congregation to the calling of a new minister.
A vacancy takes time.
So in this times of waiting please be active in prayer.
Vacancy updates. As we are in the third stage of vacancy now, moving towards calling a minister, things may seem to go quiet but work is now under way to get to a position to approach ministers. This is a sensitive stage and the elders cannot divulge any information concerning names of ministers. So there will be little information to give over the next few weeks but that does not mean that nothing is happening. Please continue to pray that God will lead us to the person who will lead this congregation on.
Vacancy updates. At the Kirk Session Meeting on Wednesday evening on a list of names of ministers they would like the Convenor to approach. The Convenor is in the process of approaching these people and he will update the congregation on his progress of that task.
