West Church the Vacancy – Presbytery takes responsibility for the vacant congregation.
A commission of presbytery ministers and elders has been appointed, convened by the Rev. William Sinclair.
The convener is responsible for ensuring the pulpit is supplied each week;
Overseeing the pastoral care of the congregation;
Working with the Session and Committee to prepare for the Linkage Commission;
Leading the Session and congregation to the calling of a new minister.
A vacancy takes time.
So in this times of waiting please be active in prayer.
Vacancy UPDATES –
Having been given leave to call a minister we have now moved into the second stage of the vacancy. Stage 2 is where we consider candidates. Before we get to the point where we can actually meet with candidates certain steps need to be taken. The first of these is to draw up a list of voting members.
The Kirk Session met on Tuesday evening and agreed that they would proceed by……
- Whenever a congregation is required to hold an election under any provision of this Code, the Kirk Session shall publish a voters list of the qualified voters entitled to vote at such election.
The list will be available for inspection on Sundays, 5th and 12th April. If you are not going to be able to be out on either of those Sundays please speak to your elder and it can be arranged for you to come into the building at another time during office hours.
