CENTURIONS
Centurions is a men’s group which meets fortnightly at 7.30 pm on Thursday evening in the Lounge. It is an opportunity for younger men in the congregation to come together (over tea/coffee) for fellowship, worship, prayer and bible study; sharing thoughts, ideas and opinions on the topics raised, in a very relaxed atmosphere.
The reason for the name ‘Centurions’ comes from Luke Chapter 7. Jesus is amazed by the Centurion and says to the crowd “I tell you, I have not found such great faith even in Israel.” This is what we aspire to. We have been encouraged by those men who have joined us throughout the year and new members are always welcome.
“Therefore, my dear brothers, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourself to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labour in the Lord is not in vain.” 1 Cor 15:58
